    Description
    Job Summary:
    To oversee patient care in an assigned clinical area.
    Main Responsibilities:
    • Administer medications in the clinical area, ensure availability of narcotics, and maintain security of controlled substances. Monitor IV therapy and emergency equipment.
    • Develop and evaluate patient teaching plans. Assist with procedures and manage recovery care post sedation.
    • Triage walk-in patients, manage workflow, and act as a resource person to support staff.
    • Resolve patient issues, partner with physicians, and provide triage and care advice.
    • Support Allergy dept initially, cross-train in other Medical Specialty depts, potential travel to different locations.
    Basic Qualifications:
    Experience
    • Minimum of 1 year in HMO or ambulatory setting OR completion of an Ambulatory Care RN Transition to Practice Residency Program within the past 12 months
    • IV Therapy experience is essential.
    Education
    • N/A
    License, Certification, Registration
    • Obtain Registered Nurse License (Virginia) within 6 months of hire AND Registered Nurse License (Maryland) within the same timeframe.
    • Alternatively, Compact License for Registered Nurse within 6 months of hire, plus Registered Nurse License (District of Columbia) within 6 months of hire, also Basic Life Support.
    Additional Requirements:
    • Proficiency in applicable computer software.
    • IV Therapy experience required.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Preferably holds a BSN.
    • ACLS certification is preferred.
