    Supports the work of Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

    Builds members' and the community's understanding of the YMCA's cause and impact. Creates a safe, enjoyable, culturally aware, and positive environment that promotes wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures with advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)

    Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher and Director, the Associate Teacher provides direction for the program and classroom and implements the program curriculum.

    Provides quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values:
    honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring while using a DEI lens.

    # As a full-time employee you must be dependable, and you will be expected to build consistency and stability in the classroom for the children in your care. Full-time dependability is crucial to this role.
    # Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
    # Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
    # Maintains program site and equipment.
    # Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year)

    Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
    # Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
    # CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
    # At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.

    A certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience.
    # 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
