    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Provide exceptional customer service and uphold ethical standards.
    • Patrol the community to deter and detect criminal activity.
    • Collaborate with community partners to improve safety and reduce crime.
    • Respond to calls for service, administer first aid, and document allegations of crime.
    • Conduct investigations, enforce traffic laws, and testify in court.
    • Conduct security surveys, recover stolen property, and perform crisis interventions.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:


    • Thorough understanding of police practices, laws, and regulations.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to use firearms, operate vehicles, and maintain fitness for duty.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Require physical agility and conditioning.
    • Exposure to various environmental conditions and potential hazards.
    • May work rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 21 years of age.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • US citizen or lawful permanent resident.
    • Valid Washington State driver license or ability to obtain one.
    • Pass various screenings and background checks.

    ADDITIONAL Exceptional Entry Level Requirements:

    • Completion of a recognized law enforcement academy within the past twelve months.
    • For individuals with lapsed certifications, meeting equivalency requirements.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    • Essential position for public safety.
    • Represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 117.
