Our CHORE (Community Home Repair Efforts) program focuses on providing essential home repairs and maintenance to those in need, enabling them to live safely and comfortably in their homes.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate CHORE Program Assistant to support our mission and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients.


Job Summary:

As a CHORE Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in the successful implementation of the program by assisting in client assessments, coordinating with contractors, and conducting on-site visits to ensure the progress of home repair and maintenance jobs.

This is a part-time temporary position, ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others and are looking for a rewarding role in a nonprofit organization.


Key Responsibilities:


Client Assessments:


  • Conduct initial assessments of clients' homes to identify repair and maintenance needs.
  • Evaluate the urgency and priority of each client's request.
  • Gather necessary information and documentation to facilitate the repair process.

Contractor Collaboration:


  • Collaborate closely with contractors and subcontractors to coordinate repair jobs.
  • Communicate project details, timelines, and client expectations to contractors.
  • Ensure that contractors adhere to quality standards and deadlines.

Client Visits:


  • Schedule and conduct onsite visits to clients' homes to monitor the progress of repair and maintenance projects.
  • Address any concerns or issues that may arise during the course of the project.
  • Provide updates to clients on the status of their jobs and ensure their satisfaction.

Documentation and Reporting:


  • Maintain detailed records of client assessments, job requests, and project progress.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of CHORE program activities.

Community Outreach:


  • Promote the CHORE program within the community to identify potential clients in need of assistance.
  • Attend community events or meetings to raise awareness of the program's services.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a nonprofit or social services setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with clients and contractors.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of home repair and maintenance concepts is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for client visits.

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time temporary position, with 20 hours per week. The work schedule may vary depending on program needs and client availability.
