Training Port Pilot

Port Pilot (m/f/d) - Training start date August 1, 2024

We are looking for reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic young talents for the training as a Port Pilot (m/f/d) starting on August 1, 2024. As a Port Pilot, you will work directly in the shipping industry and operate watercraft in the port area. You will be responsible for steering the port ships and ensuring they safely dock and take their berths. In addition, you will take on important tasks such as operating equipment such as radio communication and navigation instruments, as well as attending to guests on board. The goal of the training is to become a qualified ship captain.

Your tasks during the training:

  • Steering port ships and docking at the pier
  • Operating radio communication and navigation instruments
  • Attending to guests during celebrations and harbor tours
  • Conducting port explanations in German and English (optional)
  • Monitoring and maintenance of the engine and technical systems
  • Cleaning the deck and preventing rust formation
  • Repair work on ships with the support of our experienced ship captains

Your profile:

  • At least a very good secondary school leaving certificate
  • Strong communication skills
