- Involved in designing, developing, modifying, and analyzing various electronics systems, which may include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, or other components. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems, making necessary modifications. Compile and assess design and test data, analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches.
- Responsible for driving technology and ensuring timely and within-budget completion of activities.
- Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems independently.
- Mentor and coach other engineers in the team.
- Review customer specifications and requirements to develop designs that best support them, considering cost as a critical design variable.
- Lead major problem resolution efforts and assist in regaining or attaining customer partner status.
- Support new business capture initiatives as a key team member.
- Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments.
- Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements, and analyze designs as needed.
- Responsible for higher-level product line architecture, providing guidance and oversight to multiple development teams working on different products or technologies to ensure appropriate technological interoperation.
- Participate in relevant engineering, customer, or business meetings.
- Support pursuit of new business by developing and presenting innovative concepts, technologies, or applications as part of the Business Development and Program Management team.
- Establish trusted engineering contacts with customers, becoming an integral part of their design team to advocate for their best interests.
- Specify and assess supplier components, subsystems, and services.
- Support program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements.
- Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks.
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers as necessary.
- Heavily involved in preparing complex and significant proposals.
- Provide technical expertise and support to other engineers and support personnel.
- Interact with technical management, professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer on technical activities and progress.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and uphold the organization's mission, values, and culture.
- Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Expertise in technologies and deep domain knowledge.
- Expected knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines.
- Ability to lead major problem resolution efforts and support regaining or attaining customer partner status.
