Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our educational team. As a Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping young minds and fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Administering History curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
Utilizing lesson plans and instructional materials to develop unit organization around historical problems
Teaching knowledge of social studies, incorporating history, geography, economics, political science, systems of government, education, responsible citizenship, and humanities
Developing students' understanding of various racial, ethnic, religious and political groups and mores, as well as socioeconomic status
Fostering an understanding of the continuity and patterns of human behavior through the ages
Demonstrating the manner in which the past provides a comparative basis from which to evaluate the nature of current issues and predict courses of action for the future
Developing students' research skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to make critical value judgments
Promoting students' critical analysis of the effect media has on the flow of information and shaping of public discourse
Conducting ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifying instructional methods to fit individual student's needs
Organizing and maintaining a system for accurate and complete recordkeeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance
Encouraging parental involvement in students' education and ensuring effective communication with students and parents
Ensuring that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies
Coordinating with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participating in faculty meetings and committees
Selecting and requisitioning appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintaining inventory records

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required
Prior teaching experience is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources

Qualifications:

New Jersey State Certification as a Social Studies Teacher or History Teacher
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment

$ $40.00 per hour
