    JOB SUMMARY:


    John's Health, located in Jackson, WY, is looking for an Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist, who can help build the Psychiatry Department.

    Currently, the Department consists of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who is looking for a partner to help build the department.

    The ideal candidate will be someone who has a well-rounded vision for the department.

    This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone who can help advance the Psychiatry Department and become a leader in the space.

    An ideal candidate is a dynamic physician who embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion in their work as a clinician. We seek providers who take interest in complex cases and quality improvement efforts. This is a weekday, Monday through Friday outpatient clinic position, providing services to clients mostly between 8:30am and 4pm. Ideally seeing 8-12 patients a day. In-person and telehealth options will be available to patients. No after hours or weekend call. No inpatient.

    The Adult Psychiatrist is responsible for diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorder in an outpatient setting. Medication management will be the focus of the practice. The doctor ensures proper mental health care through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Discuss symptoms with the patient to determine a diagnosis and prescribe medications. Examines and treats patients despite sexual identity. Requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists as required.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Provide quality, comprehensive health care within defined scope of practice
    Provide medication management with evidence-based practice and best clinical judgment. Develop ongoing treatment plans. Prescribe medicine and coordinate referrals as necessary. Work within scope of practice as defined through the Credentialing and Privileging Committee.


    2. Collect, record, and maintain patient information
    Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results. Preserve patient and co-worker confidentiality and privacy. Maintain integrity of patient medical record.


    3. Perform duties with compassion and a focus on safety
    Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients. Adhere to a high degree of customer service. Treat all patients, staff, and providers with courtesy, dignity, respect, and professionalism. Foster a culture of patient safety within the clinic.


    4. Collaborate with other providers
    Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary. Provide consulting services to other doctors caring for patients with special or difficult problems. Consult with Primary Care Providers, Nurse Practitioner, Therapist, or other professionals a part of the care plan team.


    5. Teamwork
    Participate in department meetings, Medical Staff meetings, Medical Group meetings, and other physician leadership duties as assigned. Adhere to Medical Staff Bylaws the SJH Code of Conduct and policies.


    6. Direct and coordinate activities of care giving team
    Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.


    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Work Experience: Demonstrated leadership, teaching, evaluation, and communication skills. Patient focused, independent self-starter. Motivated to build a practice and connect with the Jackson Hole community. Exceptional skills in communication, collaboration, and leadership with a solidly evidence-based practice style. Ability to motivate others at all professional and administrative levels. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common journals, reports, and documents. Effective presentation skills.


    Minimum Education:

    Required:
    Graduate from an accredited School of Medicine with a M.D. or D.O. degree.


    Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.


    Required Licenses: Valid State of Wyoming Medical License. Board Certification or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Possess SJH Privileges. Valid DEA and Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy certificate.


    FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS

    Working Conditions:
    Must be onsite at the St. John's Health campus. No after hours or weekend call. No inpatient.
