- Provide continuing and comprehensive psychiatric health care for adults ages 18 and older.
- Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose the patient's psychiatric condition.
- Use various methods to evaluate patients, including interviewing patients and family members.
- Create a treatment plan according to the patient's needs, including prescribing medication, therapy, diagnostic tests, and other specialized medical care according to the patient's social, emotional, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorder.
- Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
- Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
- Make diagnoses when different illnesses occur together or in situations where the diagnosis may be obscure.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
- Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and mental health maintenance.
- Refer patient to medical specialist or another practitioner when necessary.
- Direct and coordinate nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff activities.
- Provide consulting services to other doctors caring for patients with unique or complex problems.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.

Job Summary:
A Psychiatrist, or Psychiatric Doctor, is responsible for diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders, often with medication. Ensures proper mental health care through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Discuss symptoms with the patient to determine a diagnosis and prescribe medications. Examines and treats patients despite sexual identity. Requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists as required.

Work Experience:
At least 5 years post-training experience in Adult Psychiatry. Patient focused, independent self-starter. Motivated to build a practice and connect with the Jackson Hole community. Exceptional skills in communication, collaboration, and leadership with a solidly evidence-based practice style.
Minimum Education:
Required:
Graduate from an accredited School of Medicine with a M.D. or D.O. degree.
Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
Required Licenses: Valid State of Wyoming Medical License. Board Certification or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Possess SJH Privileges. Valid DEA and Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy certificate.
