Position Summary
Staff Nurse II is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model as the framework.
The Staff Nurse II provides direct patient care and takes initiative to improve patient outcomes by integrating Shared Leadership, Evidence Based Practice, Relationship Based Care and standards of nursing excellence into clinical practice.
Through therapeutic relationships with patients, families, self and colleagues, the Staff Nurse II functions as an interdisciplinary team member who provides quality patient care and fulfills unit and organizational goals.
Staff Nurse II facilitates educational development of staff, leads unit-based quality improvement initiatives and acts as a professional and clinical role model and educational resource for staff.
Staff Nurse II is actively engaged in Shared Leadership through membership on a governing council.Duties & Responsibilities
Utilize the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care. Assess the patient, collect and document the patient's current health status and medical history. Plan/Implement; set priorities for nursing action in a logical sequence according to patient's needs and patient's needs and formulate a plan of care by the appropriate selection of Nurse Practice Standards._x000d_ Evaluate; perform ongoing assessment and revise plan of care based on new date and patient's condition.
Document accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status. Communicate with the medical provider regarding patient needs, the nursing assessments and recommendations on a daily basis. Collaborate with other nurses and health team members to ensure the patient's wellbeing. Teach patient appropriate health information in a timely manner. Administer medications and IV's according to policy and procedure. Observe and document patient's response to pertinent medications.Demonstrate ability and appropriate technical skills when administering treatments and procedures in accordance with provider's orders and policy and procedure.
Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to policy and procedure. Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner. Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:
