Reporting to the Director of Club Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Support the Club Director, Spa Director & Assistant Director of Club in the overall management and strategic direction of the Club, assuming the responsibilities of the Assistant Director in their absence
  • Oversee the operations functions of the Club as well assist Spa when needed
  • Supervise all Club Associates including Club Supervisors and support Club Directors with their department colleagues and their business needs
  • Assist and support all departments in the achievement of their financial and operational targets through establishment of a positive culture, clear expectations and policy & procedural implementation
  • Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for all Club revenue streams are on time, on target and accurate
  • Ensure schedules for colleagues are done timely within budgeted hours and schedule is compliant within Club & Spa scheduling rules ensuring meals are taken properly and overtime does not accrue
  • Ensure full compliance to Club & Spa operating controls
  • Actively involved in the recruitment and professional development process of Club leadership positions
  • Responsible for overseeing hiring and training of all Club staff
  • Ensure all reviews for all departments are done in a timely manner
  • Maintain and improve SOP's for all departments
  • Responsible for maintaining the physical facilities at the highest level possible of cleanliness and function
  • Work closely with engineering to keep all facilities in working order including a PM program
  • Understand pool chemistry and upkeep dynamics
  • Developing knowledge base for all Club & Spa disciplines and revenue streams by participating in and monitoring programs
  • Maintain inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Monitor performance and attendance of all Club & Spa colleagues
  • Attend departmental meetings
  • Oversee the ongoing daily standup meeting dynamics
  • Maintain a robust communication log
  • Responsible for managing the quality assurance of the commercial cleaners and third party equipment maintenance vendors
  • Understand and maintain technology such as operating/PMS system of the Club along with support software and support all teams in software knowledge and skills
  • Provide exceptional service to members and guests alike
  • Follow up directly on members comments and concerns and maintain a customer feedback program
  • Give prospective member tours in the absence or assistance to Membership Office.
  • Ensure the Club MOD program is comprehensive and effective
  • Enforce club rules and regulations
  • Administer a member retention program to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Assist with the marketing of the club product, internally and externally working closely with relative departments
  • Regularly participate in and oversee all activities and events scheduled for members
  • Attend regularly scheduled managers' and staff meetings in the Club.
  • Attend companywide, resortwide meetings.
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Interact with guests in a friendly, service oriented manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or previous leadership experience in a Health Club preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the athletic club/resort industry
  • Minimum 1 year experience in management
  • Basic knowledge of tennis, fitness, and aquatics
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Additional Information Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to)**:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
