PROJECT ENGINEER (PE) - I
Job Summary:
The EPS Flood Control team is looking to expand their team by adding a project engineer (PE) to help lead drainage specific tasks supporting our Land Development and Public Works departments here in Arizona.
The ideal candidate would have 4+ years of experience with a track record for increased responsibilities in performing and leading drainage tasks for both public and private sector projects.
The candidate should have a passion for drainage engineering as their chosen career path with a desire to advance their career and technical experience under the guidance of seasoned drainage professionals.
In addition to experience in preparing hydrologic and hydraulic models, the candidate should also have experience in preparing detailed reports, leading and training younger engineers, coordinating with other teams and subconsultants, and overseeing final deliverables.

Core Responsibilities
Provide direction, coordination, and QA/QC to EITs, CAD Techs, and Designers.
Responsible for the design of simple projects, including grading, drainage,
Draft complex report documents with minimal guidance.
Perform final review of simple utility and drainage reports and stamp for approval.
Develop complex models independently.
Lead meetings with clients and review agencies.
Present technical information.
Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
Perform quality control on tasks, budgets, schedules, and plans and report on the project status.
Determine project specifications.
Prepare cross-sections for plan documents.
Format base files from external project team members for public works projects.
Perform design engineering on specific scopes or phases.
Perform basic hydraulic and hydrology calculations.
Prepare specifications.
Responsible for completing timecards accurately and on time.
May require attending project team and public meetings after hours.
Achieve a 75-85% billable utilization rate.
Non-billable activities include company & team meetings, professional development, community involvement, innovation time, culture & engagement activities, learning, and training.
Skills & ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in civil, environmental, construction management, or related engineering field.
Professional Engineering License.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in project planning and execution for land development projects.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and exposure to scheduling software ideal.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
The ability to work with multiple disciplines.
Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
Valid driver's license and automobile insurance preferred.
Physical Requirements
Required to stand, walk, and sit.
The position may require a visit to project sites occasionally.
The position requires a normal range of hearing.
The employee must be able to lift 40 Ibs. occasionally.
Requires prolonged sitting with 15% of the time spent bending and reaching.
Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
Noise levels are consistent with a standard office environment.
