Monday-Friday. No weekends, no holidays
- Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phone
- Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using the following proper telephone etiquette
- Registers new patient and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information (ex. co-payments and insurance cards)
- Collecting patient past due balances
- Scanning incoming faxes
- Generate batch transmittal reports for each day
- Facilitates the patient flow by notifying the provider or other medical staff of the patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner
- Keeps medical office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs, placing orders, and monitoring office equipment
- Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information (PHI) is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
- Ensures proper hand-off of responsibilities once their task is completed
- Ensuring that all medical records are accurate and complete within the SBU for all patients
- Ensuring compliance of healthcare regulations, medical laws and high ethical standards
- Performs other position related duties as assigned

Requirements:
Experience Requirement
Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a physician office setting preferably within the urology specialty
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the knowledge of:
Internet Software; Word Processing Software (Microsoft Word); Electronic Mail Software (Microsoft Outlook); Electronic Health Records (EMR Software); Practice Management Software.
Ability to answer multiple incoming telephone calls- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, multitasked abilities and the ability to perform well in stressful situations.
- Customer service skills experience is a must with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Typing speed at least of 55 wpm
