We are currently seeking a Legal Counsel (m/f/d) for the
Catholic Office Saarland (Commission of the Bishops of Speyer and Trier) in
Saarbrücken, West Hollywood, CA.


This is a full-time position with a unique opportunity in Saarland: The Catholic Office Saarland represents the dioceses of Trier and Speyer to the state parliament and government of Saarland.


The position offers:

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining continuous contact with state parliamentary groups, ministries, Caritas association management, and various working groups
  • Providing political, factual, and legal assessments of current developments at the state level
  • Monitoring and assessing developments in the education sector: school policy, higher education policy, daycare policy, and continuing education policy
  • Providing statements on draft laws, administrative regulations, implementation ordinances, and state parliamentary inquiries.


The ideal candidate will have the qualifications for a judicial office, proven by both legal state exams, preferably with distinction.

Professional experience in a church or public institution or association, familiarity with the structures of the Catholic Church, and experience with political decision-making processes are advantageous.
