Description

To assist the Director of Anesthesia, Anesthesiologists, Assistant Director of Surgical Services, Management Coordinator and the charge nurses of the Operating Room in providing the necessary supplies and proper functioning equipment for the practice of Anesthesia at BCHO.

To assist the Anesthesiologists and Anesthesia Fellows and Residents in the setup for administration of anesthesia. To assist in the conduction of anesthesia as needed. To provide other specialized technical services as needed.


Minimum Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. AA Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Two years experience as an Anesthesia Technician in a similar environment or comparable related training, including chemistry, math, physics or electronics.


Certification Required:
Basic Life Support Certification required. Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and supplies. Knowledge of proper cleaning and sterilization procedures


Physical Requirements:


Sit:
Up to 3 hours/day

Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours


Bend/Stoop:
Up to 6 hours


Reach:
Up to 6 hours

Rep Use of UE/Grasp:
Up to 6 hrs
Lift/Push/Pull: 25 lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment
This job requires the ability to hear alarms clients and/or instruction. The ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20-ft. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function of this position.

In good physical condition to meet the demand of an active position including extensive walking and standing, moderate sitting, stooping and lifting.

Schedule:
Full Time, Day Shift, 40 hrs/wk Monday-Sunday with occasional weekend obligations, and holidays and on-call
