Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking Custodians/Janitors for 1st, 2nd or 3rd shifts to support our business in Springfield, VA.
This organization supports mission critical government programs.The selected candidate will be responsible for the daily cleaning of a government facility to include restrooms, hallways, kitchen pantry, fitness center and office spaces.
Monday - Friday, 1st shift 6:00a - 2:30p; 2nd shift 11: am - 7:30pm, 3rd shift 3:00pm - 11:30pmPosition Responsibilities:
Utilizes knowledge of custodial tasks and cleaning processesDevelops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexityParticipates in determining details of assignments to accomplish objectives and may provide guidance to less experienced custodiansVacuum and spot clean carpets; dusts and mops floors; empty trash; clean and sanitize toilets, showers, sinks, locker rooms and break roomsApplies knowledge of cleaning processes to clean, shampoo, scrub, polish and/or wax specialized flooring such as carpet, marble, terrazzo, stone, and tileApplies safety techniques and storage methods in the completion of daily cleaning activities and revises scheduled if warrantedEnsures equipment is maintained in proper working conditionAnticipates egress/ingress safety concerns and places floor mats as necessary at entrances to ensure tenant safetyMay be required to cut replacement matsApplies proper safety techniques and storage methods in the completion of daily custodial activities and may provide guidance to less experience custodiansUtilizes knowledge of the security requirements for multiple areasWith minimal supervision, plans and arranges team schedules in support of daily cleaning activities and revises schedule if warrantedObtains and provides information to lessen customer business disruption during custodial activitiesMaintains awareness of supply levels and initiates reorder when supply goes below required levelsTracks orders, maintains documentation and ensures supply delivery to required areasProvides guidance on cleaning techniques to less experienced custodians and ensures additional training is provided as neededThis position is expected to be 100% onsite.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)U.S. Security Clearance with a Counterintelligence Polygraph Pre-Start is required.
Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years' experience as a Custodian or Janitor Capable of constant standing and walking; frequent bending at the waist, twisting, pushing/pulling and occasional kneeling; and lifting and carrying up to 35 poundsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):3+ years' experience as a Custodian or Janitor Experience using "green" productsExperience using floor machines i.e.
