Description
The Plant Manager assists the General Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating the facility's production activities to ensure that processes and outcomes are accomplished within the appropriate time frame and budget.
Responsibilities
Assist the General Manager in coordinating and directing facility operations to meet production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Oversee production processes, identify and troubleshoot operation issues, and implement corrective actions to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime.
Monitor and analyze production output, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Manage and develop a team of production supervisors and associates, providing leadership, coaching, and feedback to improve performance.
Hire, train, and evaluate production supervisors.
Partner with facility departments to promote efficient facility operations.
Facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a beneficial environment, build morale, and decrease unwanted turnover.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
Assist in employee-related investigations, escalating matters to the General Manager and Human Resources as needed.
Foster exceptional and collaborative partnerships with facility staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
4 years in manufacturing operations and/or recycling preferred.
At least 2 years of post-high school education is preferred.
At least 2 years leading a team.
Strong knowledge of production practices, equipment, and technology.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in a non-climate-controlled environment (within the warehouse) and in a climate-controlled office. May occasionally perform off-site tasks and require the use of a personal vehicle or other forms of travel.
Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe shoes, and gloves) while in the facilities.
Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the above-listed duties, tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics.
