The Director of Strength & Conditioning creates, manages, and oversees all group strength and conditioning programs for the entire intercollegiate athletics program.

This position reports to the Director of Athletics and is charged with providing the college's student-athlete population with strength and conditioning programs to meet the nutritional, physical, and mental development of NCAA Division III student-athletes.


Essential Duties Summary

  • Assists with the coordination and supervision of staff and students assigned to Strength & Conditioning activities.
  • Builds and assists with all aspects of strength and conditioning programs for studentathletes.
  • Maintains established goals to enhance nutritional, physical, and mental development.
  • Collaborates with athletic training staff to monitor rehabilitation programs and develop postrehabilitation programs.
  • Tests and evaluates studentathletes to effectively monitor desired training outcomes.
  • Mentor's strength and conditioning interns and graduate assistants.
  • Schedules the Fitness Center and Varsity Strength Center.
  • Complies with all institutional and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of strength and conditioning techniques to enhance the nutritional, physical, and mental development needs of studentathletes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required;
  • Master's degree is preferred;
  • 23 years of collegiate strength & conditioning experience is preferred;
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work as part of a team, and motivate staff and students in a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on work and game schedules;
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy, rules and regulations.
  • Current certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
