Job Description:
The Environmental Studies Program at Binghamton University, State University of New York invites applications for a full-time lecturer beginning in Fall 2024 for an appointment of up to three years, with the possibility of renewal.
We seek a scholar who can teach students about the challenges of the human-nature interface. Our preferred instructor will have a background in coupled human and natural systems, a central focus of the Environmental Studies Program. Our new colleague will be able to teach introductory environmental science / studies courses, upper-level courses in their area of expertise, and project-based capstone classes. This is a teaching focused position with a load of three courses per semester.
The Environmental Studies Program places high value on practice-based instructional methods, which take a wide variety of forms including but not exclusive to labs and field-based research, project-driven classes, course-based research experiences, and community-engaged learning. We also value experimental or innovative instructional methods.
The Environmental Studies Program values evidence of advancing equity and inclusion through teaching. The Program is working to increase diversity amongst its faculty.
