Job Description Job Summary**- The Lead Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparing, sterilizing equipment/instruments andtracking them in an accurate and timely manner. This role also prepares operating room case carts, steriletrays and supplies for all areas of the hospital. This role also provides leadership in the absence of themanager and/or supervisor and performs additional administrative responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications Education**- High School Diploma or GED (required)

  • Vocational / Technical Degree (preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

  • Sterile Processing Technician Certification (required)

Experience and Skills

  • Required Skills: Strong Verbal Communications Skills, Strong Written Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Excellent Organizational Skills, Strong Customer Services Skills, Proven Analytical Skills

Physical Requirements and Physical Demands

  • Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
  • Hears alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice.
  • Must be able to accurately document pertinent information either by writing or typing.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
  • Must have good eyehandfoot coordination.
  • Must have good manual dexterity.
