Used Car Purchasing Agent


Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and

Acquire Inventory:
Source used vehicles from auctions, private sellers, and trade-ins. Maintain a diverse and desirable inventory that meets the company's standards and market demand.

• Vehicle Evaluation: Conduct thorough inspections and appraisals of potential vehicle purchases, considering factors such as condition, market value, and demand.
• Negotiation: Utilize strong negotiation skills to purchase vehicles at competitive prices, ensuring profitability for the dealership.
• Market Analysis: Stay informed of market trends, pricing, and consumer preferences to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with sellers, auction houses, and other industry contacts.
• Documentation: Ensure all purchase transactions are properly documented, including title transfer, service records, and vehicle history.
• Inventory Management: Work closely with the sales and service departments to prepare purchased vehicles for the sales floor.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a car purchasing agent or similar role in the automotive industry
• Strong understanding of vehicle valuation and appraisal techniques.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound purchasing decisions.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Proficiency in Auction Purchasing Platform, inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in automotive services is a plus.
• 5+ years management experience
• Intermediate PC skills
• Buy Here / Pay Here Experience
• DMS Software Experience

Work Environment:

• Combination of both indoor and outdoor environment, including working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditions
• Rotating schedule with shifts that will include nights, weekends, holidays, 810 hour days
• This role involves travel to auctions, meetings with sellers, and time spent outdoors inspecting vehicles.

Pay:
$80, $85,000.00 per year
