Want to join a growing non-profit organization dedicated to the science and technology of decision making? INFORMS is looking for a Meeting Program Coordinator to join our staff team.

INFORMS is a 50-person staff team located in Catonsville, MD. INFORMS is a hybrid working environment with two days in our Catonsville office.


The Meetings Program Coordinator will assist with the abstract system (currently Mira), helping participants in the abstract submission process from initial abstract submission to final presentation. A successful Meetings Program Coordinator will be an expert on the abstract submission system and use it to help create the technical program for our conferences. The Coordinator must also establish and document processes and procedures for tasks related to the abstract system and technical program development. The Coordinator assist with maintaining the technical program and session information in the abstract management system and supply content and data to sessions chairs and appropriate staff.


This challenging role requires someone who has exceptional organization and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

The Coordinator must be self-directed and goal driven with the ability to work creatively and collaboratively in a deadline driven environment, with sometimes shifting priorities.


The role will have direct interaction with committee chairs, committee members, session and cluster chairs, volunteers, external vendors, members, and other staff.


This position reports to the Director of Meetings, works closely with Senior Program Coordinator and provides the Meetings Team with general support, data and abstract management, customer service, and planning.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • Excellent organizational skills and precise attention to detail are required.
  • Must be able to multitask, produce consistently accurate work, be selfdirected, and able to work independently.
  • Must stay calm when priorities shift.
  • Must work well as a part of a cohesive team, especially during peak and stressful periods.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; strong proofreading and quality control skills required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with membership or meeting registration database software.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Experience in abstract management, particularly within a professional association or a related field, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of database management preferred.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation a plus and/or interest to work towards a certification.
  • Flexibility to travel 24 times a year, overnight travel including weekends, occasional international travel required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must have the ability to perform moderately strenuous activities, while onsite.
  • Ability to work onsite during meetings with stamina to work long hours as required at meeting site locations.

Pay:
$50, $60,000.00 per year
