JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary:


This position supports the design and installation of information networks that support the university's information network, by coordinating communications functions related to multiple campus networks and by performing telecommunications systems design services in the areas of voice, data, and video.

Typically with enterprise-wide scope, the core responsibilities of this role are to work closely with customers and internal teams to plan and execute modifications and enhancements to The George Washington University's camera, alarm, and phone systems.

In addition, creating and updating technical documentation associated with each implementation is a portion of this role's responsibilities and is used to support existing infrastructure, evaluate future infrastructure requirements, develop and recommend solutions, and implement technologies consistently in a standard way.

This position will diagnose problems and install, maintain, and repair network software and components.

This position will also typically assist in the overall administration of the university servers/network, and may develop specifications and make recommendations for appropriate CCTV and cabling resources to purchase.

This role provides Tier 1 support.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position
