Job DescriptionDay and Night shifts available.
Renders professional nursing care to ensure the comfort and well-being of the patient. Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs. Maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Is dependable in meeting assigned work schedule and completing responsibilities of role
· Adheres to department, hospital, and personnel policies.
· Uses the nursing process and physician orders to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to Nursing standards and/or established policy and procedure
· Demonstrates knowledge and initiation in the multi-disciplinary care process.
· Administers medication/treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
· Demonstrates competency in recognition and intervention in an emergency situation.
· Demonstrates care appropriate to patient age (pediatric, adolescent, etc.)
· Adheres to legal implication of patient care.
· Knowledgeable of established policies and procedures for Abuse/neglect (alleged or suspected victims).
· Demonstrates ability to perform independently and adequately in a specialty care unit and has satisfactorily completed skill verifications for that unit.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current licensure by Georgia State Board of Nursing
2. BCLS
3. If primary assignment is in critical care area ACLS certification required within 1 year.
4. Experience preferred, but not required. May be obtained during orientation and preceptorship.
