This position is located at the Southern University Laboratory SchoolJob Description:
The Director of Finance & Federal programs is responsible for planning, directing and controlling financial functions for the district by following policies and procedures and in accordance with Federal and State legislation and polices (LDOE & SUS).
This includes preparing the budget(s); conducting financial analysis and preparing financial reports; developing and implementing an effective system of accounting.
He/she must manage the financial system while maintaining and overseeing accurate financial records.Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA or MBA preferred.
Eight years of previous work experience of public or government accounting experience, and demonstrate knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting, payroll, procurement, and internal controls.
Proven experience with accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, financial reporting, calculating variances, and contract negotiations.Proficiency in using QuickBooks, EGMS, Banner (equivalent) Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
