- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the company and related entities.
- Review financial and job costs data to identify trends and discrepancies, resolving irregularities.
- Work with management to develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide support for tax return/report preparation and compliance.
- Participate in risk management activities related to insurance and bonds for the company, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Work closely with project teams and other departments to support company business objectives.
- Assist with preparation of construction payment applications and invoices.
- Provide guidance and training to accounting team members.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience; construction industry experience is a plus; public accounting experience is a plus.
- Active CPA and/or CCIFP designation is a plus.
- Proven ability to supervise and develop staff effectively.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with business taxes (federal and state income, sales/use, payroll).
- Experience with auditing processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software applications, experience with CMiC is ideal.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and an ability to recognize inconsistencies.
