Midwest Asian Health Association (MAHA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to reduce health disparities through community health programs.

MAHA has an immediate part-time job opening for Summer Employment Program Assistant.


Description of Duties/Essential Functions:


This position is for the short-term employment program, serving the low-income youths who are 16-24 years old to increase their employment opportunities and place them in a temporary job.


Responsibilities include:


  • Assists program coordinator and counselor to Plan, implement, and evaluate the overall Summer Employment Program
  • Assists Program Counselor to conducts the Essential Employability Skill on each participant
  • Provides supportive services or effective referrals to youth participants and other organizations
  • Conducts case management with the guidance of Youth Program Coordinator/Counselor for all the targeted youth participants
  • Assists Program Counselor to followup and collect the accurate participants' timesheets from employers and enter into Illinois WorkNet Database system for every payroll period
  • Enters all the other necessary data into Illinois WorkNet Database System

Requirements:


  • Minimum 6 months of related experiences and working with immigrant communities
  • Excellent communication and marketing skills
  • Minimum High School Diploma and some college experience is preferred
  • Ability to take multiple tasks and work under deadlines
  • Feel comfortable to talk to people and be persuasive to promote agency's mission
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably good at Chinese
