Under the supervision of the Operations Support Bureau Chief (DESA I), the branch receptionist performs a wide variety of clerical duties for the Branch Administrative and Operation Support Teams.

The branch receptionist greets visitors and provides information and assistance to the public, in person, or over the telephone. The Branch Receiptionist provides clear information to visitors and callers following established guidelines. Takes clear messages for Branch Personnel. Greets, directs, and provides information to branch visitors.

Checks for appropriate ID badges and ensures visitors are properly registered; issues badges, as needed, to visitors and temporary employees.

Responds to telephone inquiries, from the public, for information. This includes researching case records via computer and providing applicants and/or their representatives general information about their case.

Assists the Operations Support Bureau and/or Administrative Services Section in providing clerical support, such as telephone backup during meetings, or routing correspondence to the correct destination.

Assists with other duties, as required, and may work on special projects.

This position requires Federal fingerprint clearance and background check.
