FIU-After-School All-Stars is currently seeking Food Service Coordinators to serve high school students in its COLLEGE IMPACT SUMMER PROGRAM (June 10-July 31, 2024)


MISSION:

Founded in 1992,
After-School All-Stars (ASAS), provides free, daily after school and summer programs to over 90,000 youth in over 450 school sites in 19 chapters across the U.S.


FIU After-School All-Stars, within the College of Arts, Sciences & Education, seeks to remedy the educational inequalities that exist for under-represented, first generation, low-income and minority students in South Florida.


The College Impact Program serves the FIU-ASAS mission by providing academic and personal enrichment, social-emotional learning, college prep and career exploration.


Job Summary


FIU ASAS College Impact Summer Food Service Coordinators will serve meals, ensure that campers eat all meals onsite, take accurate meal counts, account for delivered meals, ensure safe and sanitary conditions at the site, implement alternate food service arrangements during inclement weather, clean up after meals, ensure program operates in accordance with appropriate rules and regulations and suggest corrective actions for problems encountered, transport and pick up meals when necessary.

Work hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.


Other responsibilities/expectations include:

  • Patriciate in precamp staff training.
  • Be patient, energetic, fun loving and hardworking.
  • Be flexible and able to work well with others while maintaining open and effective communication.
  • Move supplies between storage to service site and back daily; could involve lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Be on time for all shifts and meetings.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of service area.
  • Complete daily reports.
  • Be aware of the ongoing special/medical needs of campers.
  • Must pass a Level 2 background check.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
