    The Contra Costa Community Services Bureau is looking for registered dietitian candidates to fill one vacancy for Comprehensive Services Manager - Project for their Nutrition Program within the Head Start Program.

    Candidates must have current registration as a Dietitian issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration/Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

    The Community Services Bureau is the community action agency for Contra Costa County and operates effective project-funded programs including Head Start, California Childcare and Development, and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The Bureau's goal is to aid individuals and families in thriving as contributing members of the community by providing quality services and learning opportunities. The Head Start program, based on projects, has been serving children and families in Contra Costa County for over 50 years.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Managing and analyzing data, and generating reports
    • Addressing the dietary requirements of children aged 0-5 enrolled in CBS childcare
    • Developing, implementing, and training on policies and procedures related to nutrition standards and CACFP guidelines

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Candidates must have a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator License. Out-of-state licenses are accepted during the application process.

    Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Public Health, Health Education, Psychology, or related disciplines.

    Experience: Three years of full-time coordinating services in health, mental health, disability, nutrition, education, parent involvement, or social service activities, with at least one year at a management or supervisory level.

    Substitution for Education: A minimum of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university, with specific units in relevant disciplines and additional qualifying experience to substitute for a Bachelor's degree.

    Certification: Credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field required within eighteen months of hire.

    Other Requirements: Fingerprint, tuberculosis clearances, and a physical examination are mandatory. Current immunizations are required upon hire.

    Special Requirements: Candidates must hold and maintain current registration as a Dietitian issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration/Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Experience in Head Start and/or the Child and Adult Care Food Program
    • Background in social services with diverse populations
    • Experience in trauma-informed leadership

    Selection Process

    Conditional job offers will initiate a background check through the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to assess any conviction history. Rehabilitation evidence may be considered if convictions conflict with job responsibilities.
