Working Conditions

  • Hours of Operation : Generally Monday
  • Friday 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m with hybrid work schedule. Some weekend hours may be required to support training on client intake activities at CTFBrun distributions and partner agencies.
  • Environment : This position requires sitting for long periods of the time, utilizing computers, laptops, and other technology. This position will also require site visits, delivering offsite trainings, attending distributions and other service delivery events. The position also requires working alone and with others on a team.
  • Travel : CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires sameday travel between counties, using a personal vehicle, CTFB passenger fleet and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, or special events.

Position Overview


This role provides nutrition education to the population served by the Central Texas Food Bank including CTFB direct clients, Partner Agencies, and Children's Programs.

Within this position, you will be operating both in-house and in the community at our local and regional partners, providing nutrition education and training.

This position represents a critical role within the Food Bank to properly address health among food insecure clients by helping those clients to live healthier, more stable, and self-sustaining lives.


Relationships
Building and maintaining collaborative and meaningful relationships is a core component of this position.

Reporting to the Nutrition Education Manager within the Client Programs and Services area, this position works cohesively with team members.

Additionally, this position will also need to nurture strong connections with colleagues on various teams to ensure nutrition education is broadly accessible.

Proven and demonstrated professionalism and effective communication skills are necessary for this role.


Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Health Education or related degree program
  • 2+ years of experience in Nutrition Education preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency strongly preferred
  • Valid food manager certificate or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment
  • A valid governmentissued Driver's License and proof of auto liability insurance
  • Experience collaborating with coworkers on projects/tasks and demonstrate strong teamwork skills
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of central Texas and its network of services for lowincome families is preferred
  • Strong moral compass with commitment to improving the lives of those we serve in a dignified environment
