About Us:

We are a premier summer camp located in Frederick, MD on 115 acres. Bar-T has a long history of providing fun under the sun for children ages 5 through 13. Over the last ten years our speciality camps have come to include Sports, Creative Arts, LARP, STEM, and Harvest. We strive to incorporate the social connections built through summer camp with enriching experiential learning.

We are seeking a passionate individual to lead us on the farm this summer, as we dive deeper into where our food comes from and how it can benefit us.

About the Position:

This is a contracted seasonal position. Summer camp runs 10 weeks from June 10th through August 16th. The camp day runs from 8:30 to 4:30, this includes set up, prep, and clean up.

Responsibilities:

Lead a group of 30 plus campers through all of the regular camp activities such as pool and town hall, in addition to speciality programming.
Engage campers in farmbased activities focused on growing, harvesting, preserving, prepping, and cooking fresh produce.
Instruct campers on various aspects of farming, including planting, tending to crops, soil health, farm planning and maintenance.
Responsible for the safety of all campers, including but not limited to allergies and dietary needs.
Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and personal growth.
Collaborate with the farm manager on program development.

Preferred Experience:

Class hours or certifications in areas of Agriculture, Gardening, Naturalist, Environmental Studies or Sustainability
Previous experience with agriculture, gardening or outdoor education.
Demonstrate experience working with school age children.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
