    Job DescriptionJob Summary AVT Simulation is a leading provider of virtual training solutions for military and commercial applications. AVT Simulation is seeking a motivated Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team in Oviedo, FL. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our advanced simulation equipment used for training purposes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a collaborative environment.Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
    • Fabricate, Assemble, and install mechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of simulation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
    • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify opportunities for equipment improvement and enhancement.
    • Document all production order activities including quality control steps.
    • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications accurately and comprehensively.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements
    • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree not required.
    • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or technical environment.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment fabrication and assembly. Maintenance and repair experience a plus but not required.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
    • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
    • Prior experience with simulation equipment or military systems is a plus, but not required.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
