PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR- OCOTILLO WELLS DISTRICT / STATE VEHICLE RECREATION AREA


The reporting location for this position is the Ocotillo Wells State Vehicle Recreation Area Maintenance Shop located at 5172 Highway 78 in Borrego Springs CA This position will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Chief III.


  • The Park Maintenance Supervisor
  • Trails, supervises and implements the District Trail Program. This position is responsible for improving public safety and resource protection throughout the park using standardized management practices as they pertain to design, classification, construction and maintenance of roads and trails. This position is responsible for leading permanent, seasonal and special program crews.
  • The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30 pm but may be required to work at various locations throughout the District; May work on Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, and at odd or irregular hours.
  • Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
  • This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Working Conditions

  • May be required to work at various locations throughout the district, and to work on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and at odd or irregular hours.
  • Work outdoors in various types of extreme weather (subfreezing in the winter and averaging degrees in summer)
  • Work in hazardous situations (such as high winds/dust, flash floods, and venomous reptiles)
  • Work at elevated heights or near fast moving machinery or traffic.
