Telemetry Medicine Observation Unit (7A) is a medical/surgical telemetry unit, specializing in the care of cardiac patients. This 28-bed, fast-paced unit has a strong team culture. This is a great environment for critical thinking, problem solving and career advancement. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 and CNAs have a ratio of 1:12. Job Summary
Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.
The Nursing Apprentice II role provides an opportunity for students that have graduated from a nursing program to enhance clinical skills in a hospital environment when applying for licensure/registration to the Nursing Regulatory Body to take the NCLEX Examination.
The Nursing Apprentice II adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics to provide care to all patients.

Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to, monitoring vital (25%) Signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
(10%) Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to, bathing, grooming and eating.
(10%) Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. (10%) Assists with keeping unit(s) and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly. (10%) Develop specific clinical nurse skills through observation of experts and supervised, hands-on experience. (10%) Documentation that complies with clinical guidelines.(10%) Partners with interprofessional team on healthcare consumer throughput by proactively solving problems related to capacity and healthcare consumer flow.
(10%) Collaborates with interprofessional teams to incorporate Lean principles for quality improvement initiatives.(5%) Education:
High School Diploma or GED Must be within 6 months of passing the NCLEX exam Required Work Experience:

Demonstrates knowledge and applicability of the principles of growth and development over the life span, as well as demonstrating the ability to assess data reflecting the patient's status and interpreting appropriate cultural information of the patient(s) to whom care/ services is being delivered/provided.
