Description

• Coordinate and schedule transportation services, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Communicate with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and directions.
• Monitor routes and track shipments using geographical system.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulations.
• Work closely with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) providers to optimize fleet management.
• Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities.
• Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

• 3+ years dispatch experience with the Port of LA/LB
• Knows how to add/delete drivers from port systems.
• Knows how to schedule/change appointments using the terminal websites.
• Skills to manage a small fleet of drivers.
• Able to foresee and plan work for 3 days in advance.
• Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation processes.
• Capacity to deal with emergency and unexpected issues
• Skills to move drivers and appointments around efficiently.
• Ability to dispatch without incurring demurrage and perdiem fees.
• Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and remain in compliance.
