    TITLE:
    Senior Marketing & Communications Specialist (Bilingual in Spanish)


    POSITION PURPOSE


    Reporting to the Associate Director, the Senior Marketing & Communications Specialist (SMCS) plays a critical role in ensuring the organization achieves its plans for growth in alignment with its mission, vision, and values.

    The SMCS will be responsible for digital content creation, management of CPASS's editorial calendar, and managing all aspects of the organization's marketing and social media presence.

    Ideally, the candidate will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    General Marketing & Communications

    Collaborate with the leadership team to develop marketing and communications plans to promote CPASS resources, white papers, publications, public awareness and advocacy efforts, and the network of affiliate STEMM Partnerships

    Execute on marketing strategy for STEMM public awareness campaigns (National STEM Day, etc.)

    Write and edit content for CPASS website and email marketing efforts, including quarterly newsletter

    Contribute to affiliate STEMM Partnerships' marketing and communications support, including branding and online engagement

    Maintain communications editorial calendar for team use for web, email, and social media

    Manage digital asset library

    Contribute to corporate/partner engagement content development in collaboration with key staff (Annual Fund, Annual Report)

    Support media and other relevant external partner relationships as needed

    Social Media Management

    Manage all aspects of CPASS's social media presence (CPASS website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube)

    Drive strategy to increase daily engagement on CPASS social media accounts

    Lead content creation for CPASS's Social Media, including written blog content, tweets, posts, google ad development, and videos

    Increase awareness for key STEMM initiatives and events

    Data & Analytics

    Monitor, report, and present on online engagement analytics (web, email, social media, earned media)

    Leverage key engagement metrics across platforms to optimize content, messaging, and distributions

    Event Coordination & Attendance

    Participate in CPASS and partner events to capture content for marketing, advertising, and photography purposes

    Assist in the planning and execution of events, both online and offline, to promote the organization's initiatives

    Collaborate with internal teams to define event goals, objectives, and target audience

    Relationships with Program Partners

    Maintain effective relationships

    Develop new partnerships in alignment with organizational goals

    Collaborate to identify funding and build partnerships that support STEMM improvement efforts.

    Maintains excellent working and lasting relationships; including increasing satisfaction

    Support CPASS and funder relationships

    Miscellaneous

    Performs other duties as assigned.


    ABOUT CPASS FOUNDATION


    We introduce traditionally underrepresented middle school, high school, and college students to Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine (STEMM) subjects, majors, and training.

    We encourage them to learn about the curricula, unique benefits, and the ever-growing job opportunities that STEMM-based companies like tech and health care offer.

    Our goal is to create multiple opportunities, so Illinois-based students can participate in STEMM-related activities, receive an invaluable education, and continually grow in this intriguing field.

    We educate students to realize STEMM careers have expanded far beyond tech and into medicine and other health-related and creative fields.

    We partner with universities, medical schools, and other organizations to provide rewarding enrichment opportunities that strengthen STEMM-based skills. After-school, weekend, and summer programs are available for every student.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's Degree

    Desired field (s) of study: Journalism, Public Relations or Communications

    Experience :

    Desired area/fields(s) in which experience was obtained: any professional experience in communications and/or marketing, preferably in a nonprofit organization.


    Language Proficiency :
    Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply (especially those who speak Spanish).

    Candidates will be evaluated on their language proficiency and should include a description of their language abilities in their cover letter.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills (candidates selected to interview will be required to complete written performance exercise)

    Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills

    Computer skills required:
    Microsoft Office Suite

    Familiar with implementing marketing and communications strategic plans


    Proven results in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and analytics technologies (HubSpot, Sprout Social, Tweetreach, Meltwater, etc.)

    to engage a diverse audience

    Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing deadlines

    Passion for working with underrepresented populations and individuals of diverse backgrounds

    A belief that ALL of our scholars are capable of high achievement in STEMM fields

    Commitment to organizational mission and STEMM diversity; willingness to embrace goals/values is essential

    Results-driven; work around potential obstacles to ensure all goals are met and deliverables are completed by end of program

    Self-starter with ability to work on multiple initiatives at the same time; excellent project and time management skills


    PERFORMANCE METRICS
    Execution and delivery of assigned projects

    Number of project deliverables that meet the expectations

    Increasing trend in social media metrics (i.e., reach, impressions, audience growth rate, engagement rate, amplification rate, virality rate, etc.)

    Satisfaction from team members and partners.

    Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff and major projects or initiatives.

    Overall organizational success as measured by CPASS OKRs Dashboard.
