Position Description:


Dundee-Crown High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Head Girls Volleyball Coach for the school year with a strong knowledge of Volleyball and a focus on student-athletic achievement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to working directly with coaching staff to develop practice and games plans, monitor, teach, instruct and motivate players, keep detailed records of practice, progress and results and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques.

Must be organized, flexible, able to take direction from the head coach and/or direct supervisor, and able to work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school volleyball coaching experience is preferred. Must be able to oversee at all levels within the program, able to coach various areas within the program, organized, flexible, able to take direction from direct supervisor, and able to work with parents and the Booster Club.
  • Must be able to coach the Varsity level and oversee all levels within the program, able to coach various areas within the program, organized, flexible, able to take direction from the direct supervisor, and able to work with parents and the Booster Club.
  • Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills required to compete at a high level.
  • In the offseason, make time for strength and speed training. Must be able to assist in fundraising, organization, and other tasks to ensure we maintain accurate records of equipment.
  • Organizes and oversees specific program levels or areas of responsibility.
  • Communicates with the Athletic Director and Athletic Office to secure facilities to ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students.
  • Supports the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning communicated by the head coach.
  • Communicates and plan with the Assistant Coaches the practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical wellbeing of the student participants.
  • Coordinates with the assistant coach and Athletic Director all inseason practices.
  • Assures that all student participants at his/her program level are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and is academically eligible, prior to practice, tryout, and competition.
  • Models and instills the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants, and enforces consequences for breach of such standards.
  • Attends all studentathlete practices, and games, and monitors proper supervision at all practices, games, and on schoolprovided transportation.
  • Maintains and provides the athletic director with endofseason individual and team records and statistics.
  • Participates in a mandatory preseason parent meeting.
  • Coordinates with the assistant coaches in planning for the seasonal recognition program.
  • Coordinates with the assistant coaches with the orderly distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment.
  • Engages in personal professional development activities.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
