Description
Reporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager, the Project Manager - Electrical is responsible for overseeing and managing the Capital expenditure projects of the Vancouver shipyard's facilities, including buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
Note:
Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
What you'll do
- Acts as the goto expert for all electrical systems within the shipyard, encompassing a thorough understanding of equipment and infrastructure needs.
- Leads and deliver electrical projects of varying scales, ensuring meticulous planning, execution, and closure within budget and timeline expectations.
- Collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are aligned with organizational goals and executed efficiently.
- Develops and monitor key performance indicators to track project progress, quality, and adherence to defined specifications.
- Provides strategic insights and recommendations for the enhancement of electrical operations within the facility.
- Conducts risk assessments, devising and implementing strategies to preemptively address potential disruptions to project success.
- Guides the team through complex problemsolving scenarios, ensuring alignment with the facility's operational objectives and standards.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 46 years of combined experience in technical and project management experience of an industrial or heavy construction work environment.
- Certified Project Management (PMP) is an asset.
- 46 years managing electrical projects with a strong electrical background. Demonstrate experience in handling electrical systems or equipment.
- 46 years of managerial experience, with at least 2 are in a production environment, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Exceptional problemsolving and decisionmaking capabilities.
- Proficient in directing and leading within a unionized work environment and working collaboratively with cross functioning teams.
- Familiarity with shipyard industry work processes, equipment and practices is considered an asset.
- Excellent conflict management and organizational skills.
- Experience developing and managing an annual operating budget.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Outlook.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, results oriented, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, leading change with an inclusive and growth mindset.
- Superior interpersonal skills, adept at engaging with both technical staff and executive leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, fostering a collaborative environment while promoting a culture of accountability and high performance.
