At Goodwill, the Career Advisor is an important member of the team delivering Goodwill's mission services to individuals who face barriers to self-sufficiency.

The incumbent provides services directly and works on a standard Monday to Friday schedule.

The range of services depends on the needs of the specific population served and may include:
case management, vocational/career counseling, service coordination, work readiness preparation, community activities and more.

The Career Advisor may also conduct intakes and assessments, develop individual service and training plans, create and facilitate group sessions, write status assessments, and maintain written documentation and reporting.

Career Advisors work with specific populations and are require to learn and comply with the associated rules and regulations as well as with Goodwill policies and procedures.


Each team focuses on a specific population:
under and unemployed community members, individuals receiving transitional assistance or individuals with developmental disabilities.


The minimum requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred), or an associate's degree and two years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word.
  • Acceptable results of CORI check and other required background checks.
