Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Buyer/ Purchasing 2 in Mossville, IL. The work will be done onsite. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $25/hr including benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401K, and holiday pay). Cullerton Group will provide sponsorship.

Position Overview:

As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be integral to our procurement operations, handling various tasks from gathering purchasing requests to managing supplier relations and inventory.

This role offers the opportunity for advancement into leadership positions within the purchasing department.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Gather and evaluate purchasing requests from different departments.
  • Assemble and compare quotes from various suppliers.
  • Identify and select suppliers based on pricing and quality.
  • Place orders and manage purchase order processes.
  • Receive inventory and communicate the status of orders to internal customers.

Purpose and Motivation for the Request:

  • The position is a backfill, required to maintain the efficiency and continuity of the purchasing department.

Typical Day in the Role:


  • Collect and assess purchasing requests.
  • Engage with suppliers to negotiate and finalize quotes.
  • Place and track orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate fulfillment.
  • Inventory received items and update customers on order status.
  • Collaborate with team members to refine processes and overcome procurement challenges.

Work Environment:


  • This role is based in a dynamic office environment, requiring constant interaction with team members and suppliers.

Education & Experience:


  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • 24 years of finance or procurementrelated experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Experience with procurement systems and platforms.

Technical Skills:


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with online purchasing and inventory systems.

Soft Skills:


  • High energy and selfmotivation to manage purchase orders effectively.
  • Critical thinking skills to resolve issues with suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills to address and solve orderrelated issues.
  • High attention to detail and a processoriented approach.
  • Techsavviness to navigate and utilize various software and systems efficiently.
