Transportation Operations Supervisor - $65,000-$80,000

Normal hours are Monday-Friday 6:00am to 4:00pm

Responsibilities

Give drivers proper information required by the ports to pick up or drop off assigned loads.
Communicate with drivers throughout the day to inform them of scheduled or route changes.
Coordinate work flow with the warehouse and manage the yard.
Update Customer Care Team throughout the day regarding truck movements, changes, delays, etc.
Monitor drivers on the route, obtain paperwork, and accurately record process on TMS.
Be able to maintain a CDL class A driver's license and perform local drayage and FTL deliveries when necessary.

Knowledge and Skills

Intermodal trucking experience required.
Knowledge of Chicago rail yards and import / export operations.
Knowledge of rail and sea containers as well as 53foot refrigerated trailers.
Basic knowledge of local routes, interstate highways, and cities.
Highly organized with good time management skills
Excellent verbal and oral communications, fluent in English, bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
Knowledge and experience with driver route planning and management
Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Office 365 with good Excel skills
Profit Tools and Cargowise experience is preferred.
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when necessary to deal with operational demand.

Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Intermodal Trucking and Dispatch.
Minimum 3 years of Driving CDL class A vehicles.
