Packagers are responsible for wrapping material according to customer specifications while meeting our quality standards. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
Review order instructions and handle, label, and package bundles to Majestic Steel and/or customer specifications
Inspect quality of materials before packaging. Advise operator of any non-conformance
Perform housekeeping functions including sweeping, emptying trash, etc.
Operate lift truck as needed
Operate all warehouse equipment in a safe and reliable manner
Report all equipment failures to immediate supervisor
Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines
Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, etc.
Assist in other areas on as needed basis
Other job related duties and special projects as assigned
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:**
Read and interpret packing specifications
Communicate with management and co-workers in an effective manner
Maintain neat and orderly conditions in work area and help maintain and promote safe conditions throughout the facility
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow processes and procedures
Work independently and as part of a team
Operate assigned equipment in a safe, effective and efficient manner
**Preferred Qualifications:**
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years manufacturing and/or warehouse experience
Basic computer skills such as data entry and retrieval
Lift truck operation experience
**Additional:**
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs
Must be able to stand up to 8 hours per day
Must be able to walk; sit; stand; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Must be able to work in both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions
Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
