- Hands-on knowledge and experience with installing, implementing, and servicing commercial access control systems
- Must be able to read blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
- Must have ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables (to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, single-mode & multi-mode fiber optical cables)
- Must be a team player with a knack for electronics and problem-solving
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Comprehension of terminology pertaining to installation & service of telecom, data, security & wireless systems
- A High School Diploma or equivalent. (Vocational/Technical/Business School strongly preferred.)
- Ability to follow written & verbal instructions.
- Positive attitude, works well with others, and can communicate positively with customers.
- Use of small hand tools. (must have own basic hand tools)
- Use of power tools.
- Heavy physical effort (usually lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).
- Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
- Must work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Certifications are a huge plus
- Programming experience is not necessary but is a plus (will train and certify technicians who demonstrate computer aptitude and desire to learn)
- CCTV/Access Control experience is a plus
- Equipment/Manufacturer-specific certifications are a big plus.
