Ward Mfg LLC is hiring for a Cut Off Auto Operator 2nd Shift. Ward is a domestic manufacturer of pipe nipples for the plumbing industry.

Duties will include utilizing an activity-reporting computer screen and choosing the correct jobs to run, retrieves proper pipe from storage, sets proper length and chamfer on cut off machines, checks parts regularly for length, burrs, chamfer size and marks, enters parts completed into the computer and affixes work order tag to each barrel, maintains a sharp cut-off wheel and chamfering, ensures that sharp collets and smooth feed rolls are used and grinds cut-off wheels as needed, maintains coolant and machine greasing, and keeps work areas safe, clean and organized.

Starting rate is $16.95/per hour with a $500 hiring bonus after 6 months of employment.

Cut Off Auto Operator 2nd Shift Required Experience:

• High School Diploma
• The ability to learn the process with on the job training, meeting established standards within an established time frame
• Ability to add and subtract
• Ability to use a tape measure, operating a tool grinding machine, run automatic and/or manual cutoff machines, use simple hand tools/wrenches and an overhead hoist
• Ability to perform simple data entry on a computer keyboard

Cut Off Auto Operator 2nd Shift Language Skills:

• Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple verbal and oral instructions. Must have the ability to formulate suggestions and improvements to a supervisor

Cut Off Auto Operator 2nd Shift Physical Requirements:

• Requires the ability to lift and continually move 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Vision requirements include close vision, color, depth perception, and the ability to focus
• Ability to stand and regularly walk in manufacturing area
• Ability to occasionally reach above shoulders, climb or balance
• Tolerance of a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, oil, grease, loud machine noises and warm, humid atmosphere
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection
