    Senior Analyst, Global Tax Reporting - State Income Tax

    Expedia Group has an exciting opportunity to join its Global Tax Reporting Team as a Senior Analyst – Global Tax Reporting. The Global Tax Reporting Team is part of the broader tax department and corporate finance at Expedia Group. Our team of tax enthusiasts is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of tax, beginning with domestic tax planning, the global tax provision, U.S. federal, state, and international income tax compliance, U.S. federal and state income tax controversy, mergers and acquisitions support, and special projects.

    What you'll do

    In this role, you will support the team in the end-to-end tax lifecycle, focusing on state income tax, but participating in all aspects of our work including domestic income tax planning, financial reporting, state and federal income tax compliance, and state income tax controversy. You will have an opportunity to support team with mergers and acquisitions and work on special projects.

    As the Senior Tax Analyst, U.S. Tax Reporting, you will partner with teams in Global Finance and Tax to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and achieve the goals and priorities of the Expedia organization.

    The specific responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

    • Planning and Legislative - Analyze and provide support for changes in tax legislation; Identify opportunities for domestic tax planning
    • Financial Reporting - Prepare audit-ready work papers in accordance the team's documentation standards; State income tax provision; Roll forward and tie out of deferred tax schedules; Return to provision adjustments
    • U.S. Tax Compliance - State apportionment calculations and other supporting work papers; State income tax calculations; State estimated tax payments; State income tax returns; Assist with preparation of federal income tax returns (Form U.S. Corporation Income Tax Return and Form 1065 – U.S. Return of Partnership Income)
    • Controversy - Resolve state notices; Respond to state income tax audit requests and assist Senior Manager with audit management
    • M&A - Support mergers, acquisitions, reorganization, and business initiatives
    • Technology and Automation - Support the evolution of tax technology tools and technology enhancements
    • Controls and Process Transformation - Maintain and prepare process documentation and support ongoing process transformation while ensuring adherence to controls and policies

    Who you are

    • Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting, Tax or related field; or equivalent professional experience
    • CPA license preferred
    • At least 3+ years of public accounting experience in ASC 740 with one of the "Big Four" firms or equivalent experience
    • Comprehensive technical skills in general accounting principles, ASC 740, and federal and state income tax concepts
    • Tax provision and compliance software experience, preferably Corptax
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
    • Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong tax research skills
    • Organized and attentive to detail
    • Works well independently and in a team environment
    • Self-starter and diligent problem solver

    The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $82,500.00 to $115, Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

    Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
