Job Description Summary:


  • Human Resource Management & Development (HRMD) is made up of several departments that serve as advocates for the GW community and consistently provide discreet, valuable and personalized service that is timely and responsive. HRMD helps GW to maintain a diverse workforce of the highest caliber and to support employees in their roles within the university.

Reporting to the Manager, People Services Center, this entry-level HR Associate position works as a part of a specialized team that executes effective and efficient employee lifecycle actions.

The core responsibilities of this role are to partner with HR Managers and Directors to intake and initiate employee lifecycle and recruitment actions, to partner with other HR teams to execute clean actions and exchange feedback, and to contribute to the continual development and improvement of support resources.

Specifically, this role will

  • I
nitiate and track employee life cycle and recruitment actions within a defined portfolio, and collaborate on these actions under direct guidance from senior team members.

  • Partner with HR Managers and HR Directors to obtain the necessary information and context to execute actions on their behalf.
  • Provide coverage for team members across portfolios as needed.
  • Use and provide feedback on resources, documentation, and technology tools to reinforce the success in the role.
  • Monitor and adjust work effort in response to metrics to improve success of action execution.
  • Share information with manager and with other HRMD teams to contribute to a wheel of feedback share information, and to inform enhancements and adjustments based on feedback and metrics.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to resolve identified discrepancies
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is preferred
