AvantGarde, LLC (AG) seeks to engage an Organizational Development and Change Management Consultant who will lead the advancement and implementation of strategic initiatives focused on organizational development and change management.

The Consultant will join an internal human capital consulting group that provides services to an executive branch agency, at the highest levels, often with agency-wide impacts.

The role will require a well-planned but flexible individual as multiple simultaneous projects will be the norm.

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position.

Work can be performed remotely but some mínimal travel may be required to local and remote customer sites as project work dictates.


The WORK

  • Lead and manage organizational development initiatives including organizational design, process reengineering, and effective change management strategies.
  • Exhibit broad knowledge of the principles, laws, regulations, theories and practices of Human Resource Management/Administration and Organizational Development.
  • Participate in evaluations and assessments designed to identify and define issues, review, and analyze data, and evaluate/document best practices.
  • Conduct interviews and focus groups with employees and managers associated with organizational assessment as needed to include developing protocol instruments.
  • Drive organizational assessments and change management efforts, focusing on leadership alignment, cultural transformation, and employee engagement.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify organizational needs, analyze operational effectiveness, and recommend development strategies.
  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews and focus groups to gather insights and inform organizational strategy and change interventions.
  • Analyze the current state, perform gap analysis, identify trends, and develop methodologies for project initiatives.
  • Develop and implement tailored change management strategies to support seamless adoption of new processes and systems across all levels of the organization.
  • Utilize analytics to monitor and report on the effectiveness of organizational development initiatives and workforce adjustments.
  • Develop and communicate data results via written reports and oral presentations.
  • Articulate the resources and actions needed to close gaps or optimize organizations based on organizational assessment findings.
  • Prepare and present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Guide the organization through change initiatives, articulating the need for change and mapping out transition plans.

The REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Organization Development, Industrial / Organizational Psychology, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in management consulting with a focus on organizational development, change management, and strategic workforce planning in the federal sector; or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing organizational structures and processes that align with strategic objectives.
  • Extensive experience in managing change initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and training strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to conduct thorough assessments, identify issues, and formulate impactful solutions to government clients.
  • Experience in advising federal clients on human capital management, with a strong background in strategic planning and operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively articulating complex ideas to diverse audiences and securing stakeholder buyin.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in developing presentations and data visualizations.
  • Flexibility and comfort operating in a fastpaced environment on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, using clear, crisp, accurate, and compelling language when conveying complex and core concepts.
