The Position
Poder Latinx is seeking full-time and part-time canvassers to join our teams in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Washington.
Canvassers are a critical part of the Poder Latinx team, serving as the primary contact between the community and the organization.
Canvassers engage voters and other community members directly in priority areas, informing them about key issues such as environmental, immigrant, economic justice, and civic engagement.
Responsibilities
- Meet daily/weekly canvassing goals
- Represent the organization properly with excellent conduct in the field and proper representation of the organization's mission and vision
- Utilize integrity when assisting community members, including providing the most accurate information to your ability
- Be a team player and create an enjoyable working environment
- Be selfmotivated
Qualifications/ Must-Haves
- Must be missionaligned with Poder Latinx and passionate about the organization's key issues
- Must be an excellent communicator, preferably bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish
- Must be comfortable working alongside diverse colleagues and in diverse communities
- Must be comfortable speaking with strangers and discussing social issues
The pay range for this position is:
- For Arizona canvassers, $22/hour
- For Florida, California, Georgia, Washington and Texas canvassers, $20/hour
Additional Qualifications are a Plus:
- A demonstrated passion for civic engagement and advancing social and political change on environmental, immigrant and economic justice
- Experience using walk lists or MiniVAN
- Prior canvassing experience, including as a volunteer
Additional Requirements:

Prolonged periods of walking and standing:
- Ability to work on weekends and tentatively travel
- Working cell phone
Job Types:

Pay:
$ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours:
No more than 30 per week
