About the Program:

Ahead of the 2024 elections, Movement Labs is launching a political tactic incubator with unprecedented ambition.

Our goal is to explore, analyze, and scale innovative strategies that persuade, mobilize, and register voters to counteract Trump's influence.

We are committed to investing millions in successful initiatives, focusing on new organizing programs and turnout tactics.

These efforts will target low-turnout, high-opportunity voters in marginalized communities, persuade Republican voters toward President Biden, and enhance voter registration efforts.

The objective is to garner 50,000 votes for Biden ahead of the November Election.


About the Role:

Movement labs is hiring a Director of External Projects for the 2024 cycle. This role is a second in command position focused on vendor management, execution and content in our Incubator. The Director will report to the VP of Political Innovation.


Responsibilities:

Vendor Management

  • Develop and oversee the vendor selection process, including the creation of an RFP, holding vendor interviews, and assisting with final selection of vendors
  • Oversee the management of paid phone and canvass vendors, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders on scripting, data intake, and completion of paid phone projects
  • Work with the VP of Political Innovation to set clear goals and benchmarks for paid vendors and other programs
  • With the support of the data and experiments team, create and implement accountability structures to ensure paid vendors are successful at hitting hiring and output ramps and quality control
  • Assist with creation of idea vetting, scoping and project planning, and organize and track key program deadlines, deliverables, and experiment materials Contribute to the organization's strategic planning as a key member of the Incubator Team
Help Run the Incubator

  • Generate, vet and drive piloting of creative votenetting ideas
  • Initiates and manages external relationships, closing significant contributions.
  • Work with the VP of Political Innovation to jointly develop overall team strategy and work.
  • Advising and miscellaneous work as requested
Oversee "Mode Leads"

  • Manage staff or consultants as they own the process for setting up measurement methodologies for various modes, for instance, paid canvass, digital community organizing, phones or tactics

Requirements:


  • Is an expert manager who can bring pace and excellence to the team to achieve ambitious goals.
  • 7 or more years of relevant work experience, with a preference for those who have managed vendors and seven figure budgets.
  • Has a getitdone attitude and track record of motivating and holding a team accountable.
  • Has excellent project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Is creative and solutionsoriented. They are able to work independently but value collaboration and teamwork.
  • Is flexible. They are able to adapt to unexpected changes and lastminute adjustments.
  • Strong ability to communicate in writing for a variety of audiences, including external and seniorlevel staff
  • Ability to build clear and effective communication and accountability structures
  • Has a deep commitment to progressive electoral outcomes and reelecting Joe Biden.

Benefits

Details & Compensation:


Compensation:
$98,000-$120,000, depending on experience and location with significant bonus opportunity commensurate with performance.
